The ‘Lakes’ has an abundance of protected wildlife from Golden Eagles, red squirrels, red deer, roe deer, fallow deer, stags, ducks and badgers. Cumbria has six nature reserves in total.

There is 16 stunning bodies of water in the Lake District. Lake Windermere at nearly 15 square kilometres is the largest natural lake in England, and just one of the many reasons so many people visit the Lake District each year.
