A brand new suite of rooms in Milly’s Cottage, adjacent to The Plough. The Bolton Suite is the ultimate countryside retreat, combining the freedom of your own luxury apartment with all the comforts of a stay at The Plough. Beautifully designed and wonderfully spacious, this two-bedroom suite is perfect for families, couples travelling together or those simply looking to indulge in a little extra luxury.
The heart of the suite is its stunning open-plan living space, complete with a beautifully appointed kitchen, comfortable seating and a cosy log-burning stove. Whether you’re enjoying a leisurely morning coffee, curling up beside the fire with a glass of wine or settling in for a relaxing evening, you’ll feel right at home.
Two beautifully furnished bedrooms offer plenty of space to unwind. The master bedroom has a sumptuous king-size bed and its own en-suite bathroom, while the second bedroom has a super king-size bed that can also be made up as a twin. A separate shower room provides additional comfort and convenience.
Step outside onto your own private terrace overlooking the orchard, the perfect spot for a morning coffee or an evening drink beneath the stars. And for a little extra indulgence, there’s your very own outdoor hot tub.
There’s even a washer-dryer for those enjoying a longer stay.
And there’s no need to leave your four-legged friend behind, as the Bolton Suite is dog friendly.

A new room in Milly’s Cottage, adjacent to The Plough. Wightman is a wonderful choice for families looking for a little extra space and a touch of luxury. Beautifully furnished and thoughtfully designed, this charming first-floor suite combines the character of a country inn with the comfort and style of our newest accommodation.
The spacious master bedroom has a luxurious king-size bed, inviting you to sink into crisp linen and enjoy a well-earned rest after a day exploring the surrounding countryside. With views across the fields, it’s a lovely place to wake up and enjoy your morning coffee before heading downstairs for breakfast.
Little ones will love having their very own separate bedroom, complete with bunk beds. It’s the perfect arrangement for families, giving children their own space while allowing parents to enjoy a little peace and quiet.
The beautifully finished bathroom has elegant marble tiling and a bath with overhead shower, ideal for a relaxing soak at the end of the day or getting everyone ready for the next adventure.
Comfortably sleeping a family of four, the suite can also take up to two additional Z-beds on request, making it a versatile option for larger families.
And because family holidays wouldn’t be quite the same without the dog, Wightman is dog friendly too.

A new room in Milly’s Cottage, adjacent to The Plough. Lupton combines contemporary country luxury with thoughtful accessibility, a beautifully appointed ground-floor retreat where comfort and style go hand in hand.
With its own private entrance and parking immediately outside, the room offers a little extra independence while keeping all the food, drink and hospitality of The Plough just moments away.
Inside, you’ll find a wonderfully comfortable king-size bed, elegant furnishings and a beautifully finished interior designed to make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. It’s the perfect place to put your feet up after a day exploring the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales or surrounding countryside.
The spacious bathroom is rather special, with beautiful marble tiling and a contemporary wet room designed with accessibility in mind. A walk-in shower, fitted grab rails and a shower seat provide additional comfort and practicality without compromising on style.
There’s also space for a cot or an additional Z-bed on request, making the room suitable for a small family.
Lupton is dog friendly too, so your four-legged companion is more than welcome to join you.

Torsin

The Torsin Suite is the jewel in The Plough’s crown. At a whopping 685 sq ft it certainly has the wow factor, combining our country inn style with modern opulence.
The open-plan bedroom has everything you need to spoil yourself and unwind in luxury. Sash windows flood the room with light. You’ll find it hard to climb off the lush L-shaped sofa once you sit back, fizz in hand, listening to one of the vinyl records on your very own record player. The dining table and chairs are well placed for a fresh coffee from your Illy machine. Or lose yourself in the super king-size bed and put a film on the huge TV.
The bathroom is one of a kind, with his and hers sinks in front of a huge art deco mirror. The roll-top bath invites you to stay a while (try the Bath House bath salts), or revitalise yourself in the surprisingly powerful monsoon shower.
The room is so versatile it comfortably sleeps four. The super king bed, which can also be made up as a twin, has a pull-out single bed tucked beneath it, and the sofa extends into a small double. There’s ample space for a cot on request.

The Hutton Suite is our premier family option, sleeping a family of four comfortably in two spacious bedrooms with a shared bathroom. Set at the back of the building across the top floor, the view can only be described as idyllic as you gaze over Farleton Knott with a fresh coffee in hand.
The master bedroom has a super king-size bed, a TV and lounge chairs for enjoying the view. The opulent bathroom has a freestanding roll-top bath from which you can carry on admiring the countryside (gin and tonic in hand, obviously), and a separate monsoon shower, a great way to start your day.
The children’s bedroom has two twin beds, with room for a cot on request. The bathroom is reached through the master bedroom.
Between the two bedrooms is your own reception and entrance area, with an Illy coffee machine.

Bellingham

The Bellingham Suite is a spacious option for those wanting a bit of extra luxury. Light and airy, the suite looks onto our garden at the back of the inn, with a comfortable living room perfect for putting your feet up in front of the box and feeling at home.
The bedroom has a super king-size bed for a blissful night’s sleep, which can also be made up as a twin. The opulent bathroom gives you the choice of a well-deserved soak in the freestanding roll-top bath, or a refreshing wake-up in the monsoon shower.
The suite also suits a small family on request. The sofa in the separate living room turns into a small double bed, with room for an extra Z-bed, and there’s space for a cot in the bedroom.

Redman is one of our classic rooms and a favourite with staff and guests alike. At the back of the inn and not overlooked, it’s a peaceful stop-off.

Musgrave is one of our classic rooms, spacious with a bathroom worthy of a suite. Exposed beams, a freestanding roll-top bath and a monsoon shower, plus a TV and lounge chairs to relax in while you make the most of your Illy coffee machine.
Musgrave is a little cheaper than our other rooms as it sits above the kitchen and the fans run during food service. Don’t let that put you off, a great night’s sleep is guaranteed.
